Romans 8
In Romans 8 we learn that in Christ we are set free, we can approach God as Father, as Abba, the Spirit intercedes for us in our weakness, all things work together for good and nothing can separate us from the love of God.
Katherine memorized the entire chapter of Romans 8, and even before she got sick it was a huge inspiration…she had encouraged girls in her discipleship group to memorize it as well. Her mom came to Christ through this chapter.
We are encouraging everyone that is touched by this story to memorize this chapter.

If you are having trouble getting started, try starting at verse 28 and memorizing through the end. Then work backwards. 28-39 flows really logically, so it’s a little easier to memorize. Once you have these 12 verses under your belt, memorizing the rest becomes more doable.

In the verses that have lists, it might be helpful to create acrostics. For example, for the “Shall trouble or hardships or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword…?” I remember that by thinking They Have Pie For Noon-Day Supper. Cheesy, I know, but it keeps them all in order for me.

You guys are amazing! Just thought I would tell you in writing. Oh, and Ian (my 4-year old) can recite the first line of Romans with little prompting. Lately, I’ve been hearing him randomly saying bits and pieces of it on his own. What a blessing to hear those words come out of our little guy’s mouth! You have no idea.
